Meansheets Wants You…
…to have a fantastic 4th of July weekend! So whether you are from the good ol’ USA or the lovely UK or Europe or somewhere else in this great big beautiful world, I thought I’d celebrate the upcoming American holiday with a slew of Uncle Sam-themed movie posters!
(Btw, the Burt Reynolds Paternity poster is by one of my favorite US artists, the greatly underrated Mr. Birney Lettick.)
Moneyball Movie Posters
Moneyball, the new Brad Pitt as Billy Beane (Oakland Athletics GM) baseball flick from Sony has come out with a new trailer, but no one-sheets yet, except for these sporty spoofs below from the Meansheets archives.
Can’t wait to see what the real deal looks like!

During the 70’s and 80’s, he worked with everyone from Andy Warhol to Wim Wenders, and his style does indeed have a dreamy Guy Peellaert-quality, who was also a frequent Wenders collaborator. Cannes Do!
Adrian Curry of the MUBI has a nice write-up on the history of Cannes Film Festival posters, including a few by Belgian fave, Jean-Michel Folon (left) and Rene Ferracci (middle)…
Hardbodies 2011!
It appears that Pam Grier and company are taking it off in Cannes for their new flick, Skinny Dip — and their movie poster cheesily resembles that barely memorable 80’s comedy, Hardbodies…
Star Wars Sale!
CineMasterpieces has a big sale this weekend on eBay — featuring, most interestingly, a trio of Russian and Polish Star Wars movie posters…
