Just in time for Christmas, Profiles In History, the movie memorabilia auction house made famous by Syfy’s Hollywood Treasure TV show led by auctioneer-extraordinaire, Joe Maddalena, will be auctioning off some of 007’s most rare and expensive on-screen film treasures this weekend, December 15-16, 2012.

Profiles in History had a big auction this past weekend — and the original concept art for the Star Wars movie poster (by Tom Jung) went for $73,800…But even that steep price was no match for a Chewbacca headpiece that sold for $172k!

Guess who had a blowout weekend? Marilyn Monroe’s dress from The Seven Year Itch went for a cool $4.6 million at The Debbie Reynolds Auction, put on by the Hollywood Treasure gang, Profiles In History.

Last night, I checked out the new Syfy reality show, Hollywood Treasure, featuring Joe Maddalena, owner of the Profiles In History Hollywood auction house, as he and his crack team of memorabilia hunters track down valuable props from The Golden Age and beyond.
In one episode, Mr. Maddalena visits the house of Dawn Wells, aka Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island, to get her to consign some of her famous outfits from the 1960s hit TV show. Personally, though, I was always more of a Ginger fan (played by Tina Louise) and these lovely movie posters from God’s Little Acre and Day of the Outlaw back me up on that…
