Narrated by Jeff Bridges, the film takes you back inside the lives of once struggling painters/beach bums turned famous artists, Ed Ruscha, Ed Kienholz, and Billy Al Bengston — as well as the rise and fall of the legendary Ferus Gallery.

One of Hollywood’s biggest characters, Dennis Hopper, has died today at age 74. Spanning a career that last six decades, Mr. Hopper worked with everyone from James Dean (Rebel Without A Cause) to Marlon Brando (Apocalypse Now) to Jack Nicholson (Easy Rider) to Quentin Tarantino (True Romance) — and received Oscar nominations for the Easy Rider screenplay as well as a Best Supporting Actor nod for Hoosiers. Besides his five ex-wives and four kids, he also leaves behind an impressive art collection.
