MOCA Does Hopper…

The LA MoCA now has an exhibition on view commemorating the artwork of Dennis Hopper, and curated by artist/director pal, Julian Schnabel (Basquiat, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly).

Mr. Hopper was a huge collector of Pop Art, but this show focuses on the many paintings and photography pieces that Hopper himself created when he wasn’t in front of the camera.

Hopper Along

One of Hollywood’s biggest characters, Dennis Hopper, has died today at age 74. Spanning a career that last six decades, Mr. Hopper worked with everyone from James Dean (Rebel Without A Cause) to Marlon Brando (Apocalypse Now) to Jack Nicholson (Easy Rider) to Quentin Tarantino (True Romance) — and received Oscar nominations for the Easy Rider screenplay as well as a Best Supporting Actor nod for Hoosiers. Besides his five ex-wives and four kids, he also leaves behind an impressive art collection.
