Although The Key Art Awards for 2011 are not until October, I thought I’d jump the gun and feature some vintage key movie posters for your consideration…

Captain Americas!
Box office bonanza or bomb? Check out GQ Magazine’s drunk night out with Captain America…
Straw Dogs
ImpAwards has the new poster for the upcoming Straw Dogs remake. To paraphrase The Who, “Meet the new dog…same as the old dog!”
Gee, I wonder why they didn’t rip off the old French poster (below) — oh yeah, the MPAA wouldn’t dare touch a one-sheet with such prominent boobs!
The Michael Caine Mutiny!
So how’s your Michael Caine impersonation? Here’s Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s funny takes of the famous actor from their new road movie, The Trip! (Btw, the classic UK quad poster below of Get Carter was done by UK/Italian design great, Arnaldo Putzu.)
Super Spielberg!
It was a super duper weekend at the box office for Super 8, the new J.J. Abrams/Steven Spielberg-produced film that’s been described as a 21st Century mix of E.T. (by John Alvin) and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
And, as you can see below, even the movie posters bare an eerily striking resemblance. (ImpAwards)
Memorial Day Movie Marathon
If you’re feeling patriotic this upcoming holiday weekend, you can salute Tom Brokaw’s special Memorial Day lineup of movies on AMC…
Lego My Movie Posters!
It’s that time of year again…the Lego Movie Posters are back!
The Conformist!
Nobody likes a conformist…except for these movie posters, especially the Polish one by Mlodozeniec (bottom left)!
Sparring With Gasparri!
Rodolfo Gasparri, the Italian stallion movie poster artist, was featured last year for his badass Django sheets — but this guy also had a softer side as he drew up many Italian romances and melodramas, as well.
But never trust an artist who likes guns because you never know when his/her dark side might come out!
