Unlike the movie poster ripoff lawsuits involving Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan and Moscow On The Hudson, the one-sheet for this 1980’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel got by with its humorous Breakfast Club spoof.
Deep Vertigo?
I’m getting dizzy from looking at this Deep Red-handed ripoff of Saul Bass’s classic Vertigo one-sheet.
The Movie Poster Thief
As if Hollywood and the MPAA didn’t already have their hands full chasing video pirates, they just nabbed a Southern California man who was ripping off bus shelter posters — and his haul was no cheap fare: nearly 3,000 posters estimated to be worth over $450,000 (although I’m sure that number is inflated).
Smackdown of the Titans!
Whether or not you feel the Wrath or the Clash — you must always, always Remember The Titans. (ImpAwards)
Crushin’ the Tide!

Death of A Poster…
If you’re looking for the next Olly Moss or Jason Munn, you might find them working on their craft at Parsons the New School for Design in New York City — as the New York Times showcased these recent student submissions for the Broadway revival of Death Of A Salesman, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, and directed by Mike Nichols.
Dark Shadow-juice!
Here’s some eye-poppin’ new character posters from Tim Burton’s new film, Dark Shadows — or, as some have called it, Sleepy Shadow Hollow, or Beetlejuice 2012, compliments of our good friends at ImpAwards.
Scary Heritage Sale!
Movie posters are part of our heritage — and nobody displays that better than Heritage’s Dallas Vintage Movie Poster Auction this weekend March 23-24. No doubt there will be some fierce bidding wars over this year’s scary wares!
Meet The Sauvages…
Here’s some savagely beautiful sauvage (means “wild” in French) things from Boris Grinsson (top), Constantin Belinsky (The Wild One and bottom, middle), Roger Soubie (Hud, middle right), and Clement Hurel (bottom right)!
