If the names Flisak, Mlodozeniec, and Swierzy make your eyeballs go in a tizzy, then you’ll be thrilled to witness the Iluzjon of beautiful Polish movie posters on display at 18 Hewett Street in London this week (Oct. 19-29), compliments of EyeSeaPosters and Protein.
There’s also a special preview night on Oct. 18 where I’m sure the Polish vodka will be honored as well!
After watching the first hour of Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present, I thought the portrait of this performance artist was perfect material for a Christopher Guest spoof (This Is Spinal Tap, Best In Show, etc.). However, the second part of the HBO doc picked up and proved to be quite moving.
But that’s just one man’s opinion. You be the judge when the film comes out on Netflix — or, better yet, if you live in New York City, you can stop by one of my favorite bookstores, Strand Books, where Ms. Abramovic will be appearing — and actually talking — not just staring at audience members.
I’m a sucker for dogs — even when they get mixed up with a bunch of Psychopaths. Let’s just hope the Shih Tzu makes it to the final credits. (IMP)
The new trailer for Anthony Hopkins‘s Hitchcock slashed through the Internets yesterday — as the picture focuses on the making of Psycho (while HBO’s The Girl is all about The Birds). Plus, we also got our first look at Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh.
His name sounds Irish, but the poster artist known as O’Kley has had his work translated in French, Spanish, and Italian productions — so I guess that makes this romantic illustrator very well-travelled. Now bring on the dancing girls! (Intemporel)
