The Girl Premieres…

HBO Films is all about The Girl this weekend — so try not to think about that other Hopkins Hitchcock movie…

Presenting The Artist?

After watching the first hour of Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present, I thought the portrait of this performance artist was perfect material for a Christopher Guest spoof (This Is Spinal Tap, Best In Show, etc.). However, the second part of the HBO doc picked up and proved to be quite moving.

But that’s just one man’s opinion. You be the judge when the film comes out on Netflix — or, better yet, if you live in New York City, you can stop by one of my favorite bookstores, Strand Books, where Ms. Abramovic will be appearing — and actually talking — not just staring at audience members.

Who Let The Dogs Out?

I’m a sucker for dogs — even when they get mixed up with a bunch of Psychopaths. Let’s just hope the Shih Tzu makes it to the final credits. (IMP)

Happy James Bond Day!

Just in case you forgot to mark your calendars, today is officially Global James Bond Day.

And why not celebrate by picking up the new art/film/design book, James Bond: 50 Years of Movie Posters — to celebrate the International superhero Super-spy.

Skull’s Out

New skull vs. Old skull…(IMP)

Good Natured

Is Patton Oswalt going Up the Creek (poster art by Dan Gouzee) or on a Cannonball Run (Drew Struzan)? Whatever the case, I’m liking this 1970’s throwback one-sheet for his new comedy, Nature Calls

Fun With Dick & Liz…

Lifetime has dropped the trailer for Lindsay Lohan’s Liz & Dick

Clint’s Next Pitch…

Fresh off his rabble-rousing GOP convention speech, it looks like Clint Eastwood’s Trouble With the Curve is taking the Moneyball approach to its one-sheets. Translation: this movie’s about more than just baseball.
