Uncovered Films sent me a cool video about Pablo Ferro, the originator of the title sequences for Dr. Strangelove, Beetlejuice, and L.A. Confidential, to name just a few. So here’s a few more gems from the man that was once called a genius by Stanley Kubrick…

Mad About Jack Rickard (1922-1983)
Jack Rickard may not have been as well-known as Jack Davis at MAD Magazine, but he was just as important to the wise-cracking weekly. No famous movie star or TV personality got away from the wrath of his wicked pen…
The Rockwell Files
When people think of Norman Rockwell, they typically think of his old Saturday Evening Post covers of Americana and the Four Freedoms series. But he also did a few movie posters back in the day.
What I also love, too, is that you can see his signature on each one!
Goin’ For Gold
Here’s the nominees for Best Poster Picture for this year’s 82nd Annual Academy Awards…
Akikomatic!
The Auteurs recently did an exclusive interview with Akiko Stehrenberger, the illustrator who conceived the poster for Funny Games and many others I hadn’t seen before.
Poster Ripoff?
I couldn’t help but notice the strong resemblance between the posters for Mel Gibson’s new thriller, Edge of Darkness, and a 1956 movie called Edge of the City starring Sidney Poitier, which was dreamt up by everyone’s favorite design legend, Saul Bass.
Long Live JD Salinger

Recently, there was even a proposed sequel and a mock movie poster.
Sundance Kids
The Sundance Film Festival has had its share of winners and losers over the years…(Although any movie that gets made is a victory in my book!)
Which ones do you remember?
Demi Moore Loves Lichtenstein
Moviegoods just released the poster for Demi Moore’s new movie which resembles the work of a very famous pop artist. But I guess that’s okay because his son is the director.
Thank god they didn’t rip off Damien Hirst.
